Hello, Wildcats! My name is Shelly Brown. I am happy to introduce myself as the elementary counselor for Diamond Elementary School. I am a mother to two wonderful kids, Carter and Cecilia, they are excited to be Wildcats too!
I began my career in the social-work field. I worked for the state of Missouri, Department of Human Services, while obtaining my bachelor’s of science degree in Human Development. I then pursued and obtained a master’s of science degree in school counseling in 2013. After completing two internships in the Carl Junction school district, at both the elementary and secondary levels, I obtained a Missouri certification for school counseling K-12. I began my professional school counseling career there at the Early Childhood and K-1 level in 2013. I loved the experience of school counseling and educating students about best practices for personal/social, academic, and career skills!
When my family and I relocated to Oklahoma, I worked with children in school settings, employed by a private mental health company. Now that we have moved back to this area, I am excited to return to school counseling here in Diamond!
Please contact me via email, phone, or through the referral form on this website! I am here to support your student in any way I can! Have a great school year, Wildcats!
Sincerely,
Ms. Shelly Brown
