Welcome!!!
I want to welcome you to the start of a new school year here at Diamond Middle School. My name is Sean Kelley and I am the new Middle School Counselor for the 2020-2021 school year. With our current global situation I’m sure that many of you, students and parents alike, may have questions about this upcoming school year. Maybe you’re struggling with anxiety or fear about returning to school. I simply want to let you know that I’m here for you and want to be available to assist in any way I can. I want to let you know HOW I can help. First, the school counseling office will provide responsive services to students struggling with emotional/social issues, behavior issues, academic issues, etc. Feel free to reach me via phone at 417-325-5336 ext. 2004, their teacher can directly contact me, or I can be reached via e-mail at [email protected], or you can fill out a form at diamondschoolcounseling.weebly.com/contact. I will attempt to return any e-mails or phone calls as promptly as I can and if it’s during school hours I will follow up with students as best as my schedule and their schedule allows. Second, we will be discussing, teaching, and learning about relevant topics to this present time in our Life Skills class offered to 7th and 8th graders. This is a class where we will learn about mental health, anxiety, depression, bullying, substance abuse, and exploring career interest/prep. Lastly, be looking for information about Group Counseling opportunities for your child. Please check out diamondschoolcounseling.weebly.com for resources to outside counseling services, crisis helplines, food & shelter assistance, medical & dental services, and career resources. I look forward to working with your student(s) this upcoming school year and helping them navigate the challenges that come with the current Covid-19 culture.
Sincerely,
Sean Kelley
